Has Troy Terry been the best Anaheim Duck of the 2020s?
The Anaheim Ducks have had a rocky start to the 2020s decade. They have had two coaching changes and five losing seasons in the same amount of years. In this time, there has been a lot of inconsistent play from some of the team’s stars, namely the recently traded Trevor Zegras.
However, there have been a few players whose consistency has helped them become some of the best players of the decade for the Ducks, including Ryan Strome, John Gibson and Troy Terry.
The latter has the most points by any Anaheim player in the 2020s, with 257, including his 20 points in a Covid-shortened 2020-2021 campaign. That stat alone puts him in the conversation for the best Duck of the 2020s.
His consistency has helped him become one of the Ducks’ top scoring options, as since the 2021-2022 season, the right-wing has scored over 20 goals every year, peaking with 37 in said season.

Terry has statistically been the best passer on the team this decade, with his 149 assists since the 2020-2021 season being the top mark by a wide margin.
The fifth-round draft pick is now the longest-tenured Duck, with eight seasons, following last year’s trade of Cam Fowler and the recent trade of Gibson.
He is set to be a second-line wing next season alongside Mason McTavish and former Ranger Chris Kreider, both of whom possess great passing ability, helping their overall chances of success.
Not only will Terry have the chance to influence the young stars on the roster like McTavish, Leo Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier, but also the veterans who are not yet familiar with Ducks culture, like Kreider and recent signee Mikael Granlund.
So, is Troy Terry the best Anaheim Duck of the 2020s? It’s hard to definitively say, but his offensive consistency and tenure help his case. He looks to continue that consistency this upcoming season.
